The much-awaited live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga “One Piece” by Netflix is around the corner. The show is all set to make its worldwide debut on August 31, 2023. It is the creation of Matt Owens and Steven Maeda in collaboration with Shueisha, Tomorrow Studios, and Kaji Productions.
Story and Plot of One Piece
Netflix’s upcoming action-adventure series “One Piece is based on the Japanese manga of the same title created by Eiichiro Oda.
The first season is reportedly going to follow the story of the first saga (the East Blue Saga), where a young kid named Monkey D. Luffy (our protagonist) eats a devil fruit (called Gum-Gum), which gives him a rubber-like body that inflates, bends, and stretches.
Following that, Monkey starts on a journey to become the “King of the Pirates” by possessing One Piece, the legendary ocean treasure. On the journey, he befriends some of his fellow sailors and forms a group called “the Straw Hat Pirates,” which is going to help Monkey find the treasure.
