Vijay Shankar was born and raised in the Tamil Nadu, India in hindu family. His father name is H. Shankar. He has one brother who is also a cricketer. Vijay got interested in cricket as his brother was so much passionate in cricket in early days. He also used to play with him and slowly also got in love with the game.
In the beginning, he used to play in his school, and later with his brother he starts playing in zonal level and regional level matches which were the beginning of his cricket career. In 2014 he got a chance to play in Ranji Trophy where he got a man of the series for his performance.
IPL Career
He made his very first appearances in 2014 IPL from Chennai Super Kings in 2014. Where he didn’t got so much opportunity to showcase his skills. In the 2017 IPL he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in that match he got a bit opportunity and their he scored 63 runs against Gujarat lions without becoming out. In the 2018 IPL he was bought by Delhi Dare Devils. Currently he has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for upcoming 2020 IPL.
