After a season at Georgia, she moved to the University of Texas. She did not get to contest until the 2019–2020 track season, because of transfer regulations. She proceeded to appeal her old coach’s judgment to keep her from being dismissed from the team.

In 2021, She jumped 7.14 meters at the Texas Relays in Austin to set a new collegiate record. The jump put her into the top 30 of all time.

Tara Davis also qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics by jumping 7.04 meters and placed second at the Olympic Trials. She ranked in the 6th position in the Women’s long jump final in the Olympics.
