Lee made her NXT debut in September 2015, teaming up with fellow “Tough Enough” winner Josh Bredl in a mixed tag team match against Baron Corbin and Dana Brooke. Lee passed away at the age of 30 on October 5, 2022. The Bexar County, Texas coroner determined in May 2023 that Lee had overdosed fatally on alcohol and sleeping drugs before committing himself.
According to a story in TMZ Sports, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has verified that Lee’s death was caused by her ingesting amphetamines, doxylamine, and alcohol.
The autopsy report reveals that Sara Lee had bruises and abrasions on her body and head when she passed away, which led the medical examiners to initially speculate that the injuries might have been caused by a fall. The post-mortem report has since ruled out injuries and established that the victim committed suicide.
