Peter Mullan is a Scottish actor and filmmaker, who was born on 2 November 1959 in Peterhead, United Kingdom. His father’s name is Charles Mullan who is a (lab technician) whereas, his mother’s name is Patricia who is a nurse. After completing his graduation.
He began his acting career and had roles in films like- Riff-Raff, Orphans, The Claim, Ken Loach’s My Name Is Joe etc. Mullan had received many awards for her acting in several films, she had won Best Actor Award at 1998 Cannes Film Festival for her acting in film Ken Loach’s My Name Is Joe. He was also interested in directing films and he has directed several short films among which Cardiac Arrest (1994), for which he was nominated as the best director.

Mullan’s first debut short films include- Riff- Raff, Braveheart, My Name Is Joe, and War Horse. He also proves himself on television as he appeared in Gerard Lee’s and Jane Campions. He developed a great interest in directing and screening in 2002, in the film The Magdalene Sisters the film was based on life in an Irish Magdalene asylum. For this film, he won the Golden Lion award and his work was being appreciated everywhere.
