Dinesh Karthik is an Indian wicket-keeper, who was born on 1 June 1985 in Thiruchendur, Thoothukudi District, Tamil Nadu, India. His father’s name was Krishnakumar, who was a worker of system analyst, and his mother was Padma who was a worker of IDBI and ONGC. He is a very popular wicket-keeper of the Indian cricket team, his full name is Dinesh Kumar Karthik and in short, everyone called him DK.

Dinesh Karthik began his career in cricket at the age of 10, and in the year 2018, he became the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders and was moved on in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His batting style was remarkable and was always being appreciated for that. He has played in many teams like Kings XI Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai Indian, etc.

 Dinesh Karthik was born on 1 June 1985 in Thiruchendur, Thoothukudi District, Tamil Nadu, India. His father Krishnakumar was a worker of system analyst, whereas mother Padma was a worker of IDBI and also of ONGC. Dinesh has a younger brother Vinesh who fully supported him in his cricket life.

He started playing cricket since he was 10 years old and taking inspiration from his ideal Sachin Tendulkar. His father was also a first-division cricketer for Chennai and he always dreams of becoming a successful cricketer like his father.

Dinesh and his family were shifted to Kuwait in which he was more in touch with cricket and after a while, he was being trained cricket by coach Robin Singh. He made his first-class debut in 2004, playing in a Test match against Australia and in the same year on 5^th September against England.

He had a lot of complications, his first wife was Nikita Vanjara but their marital life was not working properly and finally got a divorce. In 2015, he got married to Dipika Pallikal and they are really happy with each other. Recently in the year 2018, he was being declared as the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders and also was being launched in IPL.

Dinesh Karthik was an Indian cricketer, who almost has achieved what he wants to. He started his cricket carrier playing in much domestic cricket, and in 2008 he made his first-class debut in Indian Premier League (IPL, and set a tough challenge by scoring around 145 runs. In 2011 he was bought by Kings XI Punjab at a very huge price and was a second-most expensive player in the squad.

He has proved himself as one of the most tremendous players in the Indian cricket team and was being offered in many of the matches. Again in 2018, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL season by replacing Gautam Gambhir and in the same year, he became the captain of the team.  He was named in Cricinfo and CricBuzz IPL XI for the season of IPL 2018.
