Amit Mishra began his career as a domestic cricketer from his homeland team. Later on, looking at his potential he was selected in the domestic team Haryana. There he got a chance to make his appearances in the Ranji Trophy. Since then his professional cricket career was started.
In 2002 match against Australia he took 5 wickets giving 71 runs in the first innings which make him one of the leading wicket-takers from India. Besides this, Mishra made his breakthrough when he took 5 wickets haul in a match against South Africa in 2007. Looking at his performance he was bought by Delhi daredevils in the 2007 IPL.

Amit Mishra made his appearances in 2008 IPL from Delhi dare devils during that time got so much opportunity. He made his impressive performance in 2013 IPL where he took three wickets in a Hat-Trick. Currently he plays for Delhi Dare devils in the IPL.
