Tate Rosner McRae who is also known as Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, dancer, and songwriter who gained immense popularity at the age of 13 when she became the first Canadian finalist of the show So You Think Can Dance, an American reality TV show. McRae’s original song “One Day” started getting viral on YouTube as of which she captured the attention of RCA Records and was signed by them in 2019 and later released her debut EP “All the Things I Never Said” in 2020.
Her new song “You Broke Me First” became an international hit as of which she gathered wider recognition. McRae was even listed on Forbe’s 30 lists and became the youngest musician ever to get featured in the Forbes list.
McRae was born on 1 July 2003 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to a German mother and Canadian father. She moved to Oman with her family at the age of 4 due to her father’s work, where her mother taught dance lessons and lived there for three years. She attended The American International School Muscat in Oman and at the age of 6, she started learning recreational dance. She has also attended Western Canada High School and completed her high school graduation.
McRae returned back to Canada and began training more passionately in dance with Drewitz Dance Productions. Learning dance at a very young age made her more enthusiastic and passionate about dance and began training in all dance styles at YYC Dance Project, a dance company owned by her mother herself. She also completed her ballet training at the School of Alberta Ballet, the training school for the Alberta Ballet Company.
