McRae was born on 1 July 2003 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to a German mother and Canadian father. She moved to Oman with her family at the age of 4 due to her father’s work, where her mother taught dance lessons and lived there for three years. She attended The American International School Muscat in Oman and at the age of 6, she started learning recreational dance. She has also attended Western Canada High School and completed her high school graduation.
McRae returned back to Canada and began training more passionately in dance with Drewitz Dance Productions. Learning dance at a very young age made her more enthusiastic and passionate about dance and began training in all dance styles at YYC Dance Project, a dance company owned by her mother herself.
