Solána Imani Rowe, known as SZA, is an American singer, songwriter, and music composer who is best known for critically acclaimed albums, EPs, and singles including Ctrl, SOS, and See.SZA., Run, S, Z, Teen Spirit, and Sobriety. She is also known for winning the American Music Awards for “Kiss Me More” (Doja Cat featuring SZA) and getting nominated for the Academy Awards for “All the Stars.”Â
On November 8, 1989, SZA was born and grew up between St. Louis and Maplewood, New Jersey, alongside her siblings. She graduated from Columbia High School, where she discovered her passion for music and regularly performed at the school’s annual event. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from Delaware State University and decided to pursue a career in the music industry.Â
In 2012, SZA embarked on her music journey by self-releasing her debut EP, “See.SZA.Run.” The episode received positive reviews globally and was declared a commercial hit. A year later, she released a second EP titled “S,” which was also a massive hit.
She received early recognition in 2014 when her third EP, “Z,” ranked top in several music rating charts, including the US Billboard 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and others. Following her early popularity, SZA released her first-ever studio album, “Ctrl,” in 2017 with Top Dawg and RCA labels.Â
The album was both commercially and critically successful and ranked 3rd on the US Billboard 200 chart. Apart from this, the singer has released multiple other award-winning albums, EPs, and singles, including SOS, Lana, Teen Spirit, Sobriety, TwoAM, Hit Different, No Szns, and others.
