Steve Smith Wiki Biography:Steve Peter Devereux Smith commonly known as Steve Smith is an Australian Cricketer and former Australia’s Team Captain. He was born in Sydney, Australia.
Steve Smith started his cricket career as a spinner but later developed himself to one of the top batsmen in world cricket at the moment. He marked his debut for Australia in 2010. He played his first international T20 game on 5th February 2010 and later that year he also made his test debut for Australia on 13th July 2010 against Pakistan.
Steve Smith plays for New South Wales Team in Australian Domestic Cricket. He joined the team in 2008. Smith has also played in the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Smith also plays IPL and started his IPL journey with Royal Challengers Bangalore team in 2010. He then bought by other teams and played for various teams in IPL. He has also captained Rajasthan Royals for the 2015 season.

Career
Steve Smith started playing cricket for New South Wales in Domestic Cricket. He made his first-class debut for New South Wales on 25th January 2008. In the 2009-10 Domestic season, he impressed everyone by his batting stats and skills but his bowling figures were not impressive. He made his international debut for Australia in T20 in February. His debut international T20 match was against Pakistan on 5th February 2010. Later that month he also made his ODI debut for Australia on 19th February 2010. His ODI debut match was against West Indies. Later that year he made his Test debut against Pakistan on 13th July 2010.
Smith was then selected for the 2010-11 Ashes Series and impressed everyone with his all-round abilities. He then was not given chance in the test side for 2 years and then played his next test match against India in 2013. Smith was then selected for the 2013-14 Ashes Series and he was also the part of the Australian Squad that toured South Africa in 2014.
He was also selected for the Tri-Series in Zimbabwe in 2014. Then he was selected for a Test series against India in 2015 and made his first test century against India. He was named the Vice-Captain of Australian Team on 15th December 2015. Smith accomplished a milestone in the series against India by scoring 4 consecutive centuries in all 4 test matches. Smith was made captain of Australia’s Team in 2015 after the defeat of Australia in Ashes 2015. He was then banned for Ball tampering in 2018 and returned to international cricket in 2019.
IPL Career
Steve Smith started playing IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in 2010. Then in the 2011 IPL season, he was bought by Kochi Tuskers Kerala and later dropped from the team for 2012 season. He remained unsold for 2012 IPL Season but later he was bought by Pune Warriors India as a replacement of Mitchell Marsh.
For the 2014 IPL season, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals and he was made captain of the team for the 2015 season. In 2016 IPL season he was bought by Pune Supergiants and was also made the captain of the team in 2017.
For 2018 IPL season he was again bought by Rajasthan Royals and was also named as the captain of the team for that season but was axed from the captaincy for his Ball tempering incident. He was also banned for that season. In 2019 he was retained by Rajasthan Royals franchise and had a wonderful season that year scoring 319 runs at an average of 39.87.
