Career 

• Having been fond of modeling and acting since of her childhood, Sofia began modeling and acting at the age of 17. Simultaneously, she was studying dentistry at the National University of Colombia but left the course in order to pursue a career in modeling and acting. 
• At the age of 17, she appeared in her first commercial for Pepsi of Latin American countries. Subsequently, Sofia in 1995, made her acting debut with a Mexican tv show named “Acapulco, Cuerpo y alma”. Her performance in the show was commendable and received praise and appreciation from the audience. She has appeared on various other shows such as My Wife and Kids, Eve, The Knights of Prosperity, Dancing with the Stars, Saturday Night Live(as a host), Family Guy, and recently in the 15th season of America’s Got Talent as a judge. 
• Similarly, in 2002 Sofia made her movie debut with a comedy movie named “Big Brother”. Some of her popular movies are The 24th Day, Four Brothers, Happy Feet Two, Wild Card, The Emoji Movie, and Bottom of the 9th. Her work in movies was marvelous and for that, she received various awards and nominations. 
• With rising fame and popularity Sofia has been the face of various brands and magazines such as CoverGirl, Diet Pepsi, Rooms to Go, and many more. On social media platforms as well, she has garnered a massive fan base with years of hard work and perseverance. On Instagram and Facebook, Sofia has millions of followers and often she has been seen promoting various brands in it. 

Awards and Achievements

• Sofia in 2009 received the ALMA Awards in the best actress category for her work in Madea Goes to Jail. in the same year, she received a nomination in the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Modern Family.
• Following that year, she received the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Modern family and won several nominations in Primetime Emmy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards.
• In 2017 and 2020, Sofia received the People’s Choice Awards under Favorite TV Comedy Actress and The Comedy TV Star of 2020 for “Modern Family. Subsequently, she has won several more awards and nominations.
