Shahbaz began playing cricket when he was in high school. Shahbaz has also made his appearances in Under-14 Match from Jharkhand. He is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler which has attracted the eyes of many players and teams. Later on, he has also represented India in the uder-19 cricket match as well.
In the domestic match, he used to represent Jharkhand in the cricket match. Shahbaz came into popularity when he takes 8 wickets for 10 runs against Rajasthan. He made his first appearances in IPL from Delhi daredevils from 2011 to 2018 and later on he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Later he got an offer from Delhi Dare Devils where he plays for more than 7 years and later on changed to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
