Her Mother name is Mukti Roy, She was a theatre artist. Mouni completed her schooling till class 12th from Kendra Vidhyalaya Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Then she went to Delhi for her college study.

Mouni Roy finished her 1st-year college exam and went to Mumbai, later she did not come back to Delhi. In Mumbai, she tried to get work in films and serials and she got many offers.
