Manish Malhotra’s first costume debut was in the 1990 movie “Swarg” starring Top Bollywood actors Rajesh Khanna, Govinda, and Juhi Chawla. In 1997, Malhotra was offered to design costumes for Karisma Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and the entire cast of Yash Raj Chopra’s film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’.
He then did an exceptional job in styling Kajol and Rani Mukerji for Karan Johar’s iconic movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. In 1999 Karan Johar hired him to style the cast of his multi-starrer, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’. He styled Kareena Kapoor’s look in the film.
