Lovlina Borgohain is an Indian athlete, boxer, and Olympic medalist. She is popular for winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and became the only third boxer to win a medal at the Olympic games. She is also known for winning a gold medal in the 1st India Open International Boxing Tournament and a bronze medal at the 2018 Women’s World Boxing Championships.
Lovlina was born and brought up in Golaghat, Assam, India along with her parents and siblings. She attended Barpathar Girls High School for her higher secondary education. Initially, she wanted to be a kickboxer just like her elder sisters but later chose boxing. She was scouted by a famous coach Padum Chandra Bobo in a trial held by the Sports Authority of India at her high school.
