On March 23, 2023, Linus Tech Tips YouTube had an ongoing issue with account breaches, and now it seems that one of the biggest channels on the platform has been hacked. LinusTechTips, known for creating videos on its accessible PC hardware, has been the latest victim of these attacks.
The channel has been renamed “LinusTechTipsTemp” to “@temporaryhandle“ by the hacker. The channel has also deleted most of its videos, although these are slowly being restored.
The breached channel streamed two videos appearing Elon Musk talking about cryptocurrency with Twitter’s founder. One video was titled “OpenAI ChatGPT-4: The Game-Changing AI Technology”, while the other video was titled “LinusTechTips & Elon Musk Special Crypto Giveaway”. The later stream has been taken down after around 20 minutes of Live-streaming. The first stream went down after around 35 minutes of Live-streaming.
It is also not yet clear whether it was hacked by a hacker or by YouTube.
