Laufey LÃn Bing Jónsdóttir is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and producer who is best known for globally acclaimed studio albums, EPs, and singles including Everything I Know About Love, Bewitched, Typical of Me, Christmas with You, and Love Flew Away.
She is also known for winning the 2024 Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, “Bewitched,” and the Icelandic Music Awards.Â
On April 23, 1999, Laufey grew up in ReykjavÃk, Iceland, in an affluent family alongside her siblings. Growing up, she found her passion for music and learned to play the piano while studying at a local high school.
After graduating from high school, Laufey studied at ReykjavÃk College of Music before obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music.Â

In 2020, Laufey started her music career and released her debut single, “Street by Street,” which received positive views. Her second single, “Someone New,” also received positive reviews from both the audience and critics.
A year later, she released her first-ever EP, “Typical of Me.” The EP was a commercial hit and ranked second on the US Billboard charts.
Following that, the singer released her debut studio album, “Everything I Know About Love,” which was also a massive hit.
In 2023, Laufey released her second album, “Bewitched,” which was critically acclaimed and won the Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.Â
