Kumkum Bhagya is an Indian television serial created and produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Ravindra Gautam. This serial was released on 15th April 2014 on Zee TV. The story of the serial was written by Anil Nagpal and screenplay by Mrinal Tripathi. The main cast of this tv serial is Shabbir Ahluwalia(as Abhishek Prem Mehra) and Sriti Jha(as Pragya Mehra). This serial is based on the complicated love story of Pragya and Abhishek.

Plot
The story of the serial is based on the love story of Abhishek Prem Mehra and Pragya Mehra. The serial starts with the story of the Mehra family. Pragya Mehra and Bulbul helps the mother to run a marriage hall name Kumkum Bhagya. Pragya is a teacher and the engagement of Pragya has done with Suresh but for some reason, the engagement is canceled.
Abhishek Prem Mehra (Abhi) is a rockstar. Poorab Khanna is Abhi’s best friend and his music manager. Abhi is in a relationship with a model Tanu. Abhishek’s sister Alia Mehra is engaged to Purab. Pragya’s sister Bulbul was hired by Purab for an advertising contract, after which he falls in love with Bulbul even after being engaged to Alia.
Alia misunderstands that Purab loves Pragya. To save the relation between Alia and Purab, Abhi married Pragya. After marriage, Pragya started getting tortured by all the family members except Abhi’s grandmother.
Poorab proposes Bulbul in front of all the family members and said he loves her and wants to marry her. After that Poorab and Alia get married. Alia was not happy with their marriage and later she kills Bulbul by a master plan.
In between these matters, Abhi and Pragya come closer. After Bulbul’s death, Purab gets in a relationship with Disha and both get married but Alia again was not happy with their marriage and she destroyed their relation by the evil plan after that Poorab divorced Disha.
Later, Abhi and Pragya started loving and caring for each other. After that Pragya gave birth to a girl Kayra. Alia was not happy for Kyara and she kidnapped her and later Kyra was found dead. After the death of Kyara Abhi and Pragya started blaming each other for her death. They used to fight a lot.
Kumkum Bhagya Natak
A few years later Pragya gave birth to a twins girl. The name of the girl is Riya and Prachi. But because of a quarrel between Pragya and Abhi, they got separated. Riya went with father Abhi and Prachi went with Mother Pragya.
On the other side, Poorab gets married to Alia and gave birth to a child Aryan.
20 Years Later

After the separation between Abhi and Pragya, the Story of the serial was forwarded 20 years. After 20 years Abhi shifted with family from Mumbai to Delhi. Now he is a businessman and runs a business with a business partner Vikram. The family of Vikram and Abhi stays together in Delhi.
Pragya also moved to Delhi but Abhi did not know about her. Both the daughters of Abhi and Pragya study in the same college and always keep fighting but they do not know that both are sisters. One day suddenly in the police station Pragya saw Abhi and they talked.

1.Shabbir Ahluwalia: In Kumkum Bhagya Shabbir Ahluwalia has played the role of Abhishek Prem Mehra. He is the husband of Pragya Mehra and the brother of Alia Mehra.
Shabbir Ahluwalia was born on 10 August 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra in a Sikh family. His father is an Army Officer and his mother is Air Hostess. He has a younger brother Sameer Ahluwalia and a younger sister Shefali Ahluwalia. Shabbir completed his schooling from St.Xavier’s High School after that he completed Graduation from the University of Maryland Colleg, US. Shabbir is fond of playing Football and Cricket since childhood. He also loves playing guitar.
2.Sriti Jha: In this serial, she has played the role of Pragya Mehra
Sriti (Pragya) was born in Begusarai, Bihar on 26 February 1986. At the age of just 10, Sriti moved to Kathmandu, Nepal where she completed her 10th class from Modern Indian School. After this, Sriti Jha moved to Delhi and completed further studies from the Laxman Public School. Sriti obtained her BA degree in English from Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi. Sriti Jha used to dance besides school during her school days. In 2004, Sriti joined the English Dramatics Society Acting Class after getting interested in Acting.
3.Naina Singh: She has played the role of Rhea Mehra who is the daughter of Abhi and Pragya, sister of Kiara and Prachi.
Naina Singh is an Indian television actress and model who is known for winning MTV India’s Splitsvilla 10, and with it, she emerged as a finalist in Star Plus’ India’s Next Superstar. Naina is currently working in Kumkum Bhagya Serial as a Prem Mehra’s daughter’s Rhea Mehra. Naina Singh was born in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. Currently, Riya Mehra i.e. Naina Singh resides in Mumbai India.
4.Mugdha Chaphekar: She has played the role of Prachi Mehra who is the daughter of Abhi and Pragya and sister of Rhea and Kiara.
Mugdha Chafekar is an Indian actress. she was born in Mumbai, India on 24 March 1987. Her childhood name is Barbie. After completing his schooling from Mumbai, she obtained a Bachelors’s degree in English from the D.G Rupurel Colleg, Mumbai and after this she got M.A degree in History.
5.Shikha Singh: She has played the role of Alia Mehra who is the sister of Rockstar Abhishek Prem Mehra.
Shikha Singh was born on 7th February 1986 in Chandigarh, Punjab, India. Sikha’s nickname is Sona. She completed her schooling from Punjab High School and collaging from MCM Punjabi University of Punjab. She is from Chandigarh and currently staying in Mumbai.

Mrunal has an elder sister Lochan Thakur who is a Makeup Artist and a younger brother named Mander Thakur. Mrunal completed Graduation from Kishinchand Chellaram College, Mumbai. After this, she has a degree in Mass Media Journalist.
