Heida Reed was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, on May 22, 1988. Her mother is a dental hygienist, while her father is a music instructor. She attended lduselsskóli after growing up in Breiholt, Reykjavik. She moved to Mumbai for two years, working as a model, after receiving a job offer from an Icelandic modeling agency when she was 18 years old. She traveled to London at the age of 20 to study drama at the Drama Centre London. She moved to London when she was 19/20, where she studied acting at the Drama Centre London, graduating in 2010. However, she shot to popularity in 2015 when she starred as Ross Rpldark in the television series Poldark.
