On 1 January 1991, Donald was born and grew up in Phnom Penh, Cambodia along with his Chinese parents as well as siblings. He completed his basic education at a local high school and moved to Simon Fraser University for a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and trained for a few years at Actor’s Foundry in Vancouver.
