Cody Mauch is an American football player who plays as an offensive tackler for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He participated in collegiate sports with the North Dakota State Bison. He is regarded as one of the strongest and most energetic college players.
Mauch was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, on January 15, 1999. He played football and basketball at Hankinson High School in Mantador, North Dakota, where his parents reside.
He lost his two front teeth while he was in the seventh grade after diving for a loose ball during a basketball game. He had a school-record 24 touchdowns and 1,072 receiving yards at the end of his high school career.
Mauch recorded 24 receptions for 474 yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior season. He also ran for 398 yards and four scores, threw for 273 yards and four scores, and had 18.5 sacks on defense in nine games.
As a senior, he averaged 20 points, 15.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game. He was also voted second-team All-State in basketball. Mauch turned down scholarship offers from Division II Minnesota State-Moorhead and the University of North Dakota in favor of committing to play collegiate football at North Dakota State and joining the team as a preferred walk-on.

He was named first-team All-MVFC and a second-team All-American by the Associated Press after starting all 15 of NDSU’s games as the Bison again won the FCS national title. Mauch decided to utilize the extra year of eligibility granted to college athletes who played in the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic and return to NDSU for a sixth season. He was added to the watchlist for the 2022 Walter Payton Award midway through the season.
