On August 30, 1976, Chitrangada was born and grew up in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, alongside her family. She graduated from Sophia Girl’s School and earned her bachelor’s degree in home science from Lady Irwin College, New Delhi. From a young age, Chitrangada was fond of acting and modeling and chose to pursue a career in them after completing her education.

Following her early success as a model, Singh ventured into acting, playing Geeta Rao, the lead character in Sudhir Mishra’s drama film “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.” The film was a global hit, and her remarkable performance earned her a Bollywood Movie Award as the best female debut.
