The Indian American star was born to an Indian Telugu family in San Francisco, California, on January 25, 2005. In terms of her early theater lessons, she attended the American Conservatory Theater and obtained drama lessons along with a degree.
Vandanapu entered the glamour world after debuting in Telugu Cinema in 2015, portraying a child artist. She was chosen to feature the role of Chutki in the 2016 Hanu Raghavapudi romance comedy film Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Ga.
Her official debut as a child artist was marked by Brahmotsavam, starring Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. She then collaborated with Chandra Shekhar Yeleti, a leading director, in his dramatic telegu film Manamatha.
The same year, she also played the role of Young Sindhu in Premam, starring Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Hassan in the lead cast. Following her appearances in 2017, 2018, and 2020, with Rarandoi Veduka Chudham, Balakrishnudu as Young Aadhya, Oxygen, Agnyaathavaasi, Mira, the Royal Detective giving her voice to the Kamala character, and Diary of a Future President.
In 2021, Avantika featured the lead role of Rhea Kumar in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin. The film emerged as a success for her, with positive feedback from critics.
Followed by her Boomika portrayal in the Tamil film Boomika. In 2022, she made her Hollywood debut with the Alex Hardcastle-featured film Senior Year. Recently, in 2024, Avantika played the role of Karen Shetty in the musical drama film Mean Girls. Her portrayal in the film was highly praised by Hollywood critics.
