At the age of 12, he started taking acting classes at LaGuardia where he performed multiple plays along with his schoolmates.

While completing his graduation, luckily Ansel achieved an offer as a lead role in an off-broadway production series titled Regrets in march 2012. His mainstream acting debut was featured by him in a 2013 American supernatural horror film directed by Kimberly Peirce.

Where he performed the role of Carrie.  But it could not give him worldwide recognition, later in 2014, he was highly appreciated by audiences due to his outstanding acting in a dystopian science fiction action film titled Divergent directed by Neil Burger, where he performed the role of Caleb Prior. 

Instantly after completing Divergent he announced that he is going to feature Augustus waters in John Green’s Novel movie The Fault in our stars alongside Shailene Woodley. The story of film was about a teenage cancer patient, who was forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she meets and falls in love with waters a former Basketball player. 

Then later he executed a main role in Jason Reitman’s dramatic film Men Women and Children released in October 2014. In the same year, he was crowned as one of the best actors under 20 years of age. Ansel also reprised the role of Caleb Prior in the second part of The Divergent Series; Insurgent which was subsequently released on March 20, 2015. In 2016 appeared in the third part of the Divergent Series which was released on March 18, 2016.

Apart from acting Ansel has also accumulated fame as a singer With the stage name Ansolo. He began his singing career by creating an account on Soundcloud an online audio distribution platform and music-sharing website.

Where he eventually began sharing his dance music and remixing songs such as Born to Die by Lana del Rey. Similarly in a live stream held in February 2014, he said he had signed a record deal with Tom Staar’s, Staar Traxx, and Steve Angello’s new music label.
