At a young age, Alexandra began her dancing journey by participating in various reality shows and dance competitions. In 2011, she received early recognition when she won the Mini Miss Dance Canada competition. 

Subsequently, Chaves became a member of the junior hip-hop crew of the Toronto Raptors before joining the National Ballet School of Canada. Growing her popularity as a dancer, she made her acting debut as Piper, an important character in the family drama show “The Next Step.”
